The 50mm lens is one of the flexible and useful lenses in any photographer’s gear bag. It is neither a wide-angle or telephoto lens, but allows the camera to see on the same scale as your eye. As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, we’ll review the basic camera settings. We’ll then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. As always, there will be ample opportunities for you to put your new knowledge into practice.

Absolutely wonderful!! Azure was very well prepared and was easy to follow. It was the first time for my mom to even try to paint anything and she had a blast. Planning to hire her for other events because of her good vibe🤩

Title or Location: Gift of the Master
I painted this image as a commission piece for a new fantasy collectible trading card game in development. I was told to come up with a concept that had a wise old wizard in his workshop gifting a sword to a young warrior. With those directives only, I came up with this piece. Size: 18"x24" cotton stretched water color canvas, Medium: Oil & Acrylic, Date: May 2025.

Title or Location: ?The Glade?
This is a painting I did of the Green Swamp. It?s located in Polk County, off of Dean Still, Rd. It?s so representative of the part of Florida that is still untouched by industry. It?s a Florida most people are unaware of, or never see. There are still cowboys, and cowgirls. They work the cows on horseback, with their faithful dogs. I love capturing the Florida I love on canvas.

Title or Location: ?Backwoods Cathedral ?
This painting was inspired by a location off the Kissimmee river between Lake Hatchneaha, and Lake Cypress. Locally known as The Dead River. I chose the name ? Backwoods Cathedral ? because of the feeling in this location of being close to the Creator.

Title or Location: Authenticity
My art "Authenticity"This piece represents my journey of transformation ? a journey of becoming the truest and most authentic version of myself. It is about releasing limiting beliefs, breaking free from old patterns, and leaving behind the masks I once wore to fit expectations and seek acceptance. The act of removing the mask symbolizes letting go of the false identities that no longer serve me and embracing who I truly am.At its heart, this artwork carries a powerful message: be aut

Title or Location: My Favourite Toy
This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it but quiete happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of faber castel polychromos, caran d'ache luminance and some derwent drawing pencils.

Title or Location: Balnagask golf course
I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
